| About this Site |
| Change not the mass
but change the fabric of your own soul and your own visions, and you change all.
(V. Lindsay) |
| Introduction |
|
In 1996 I made my first homepage with
several links to a very broad variety of themes and subjects. I tried to
order all these links and 'useful' resources by sorting it theme-wise
and putting it in functional rooms. I did get some remarks about it but
I guess I never really got hold of my target-group (if I had any) and my
personal goals with the site were not so clear.
Just like other things in life, you need to practice
and learn from mistakes to understand the possibilities and know what to
expect. Although wisdom comes with the years, and opinions and
reflections change depending on life-experience, I want to share some of
the sources that were inspirational to me and life-lessons I learned,
witnessed, or came across.

| Direction |
|
My general goal in life is to make the
world a better place by inspiring, helping and facilitating others to
become all they can be in a loving way. I think my way of achieving this
goal is by communication. Not all kinds or forms of communication might
be fit for delivering the full message. And besides that, different
people have different triggers for insight and understanding. With this
textual form of communication I want to supply a theoretical and
conceptual basis for universal and personal growth within the 'vital'
areas of Life: health, family, financial, intellectual, professional,
social, and spiritual. |
| Vision |
|
Any social interacting Society needs Vision
to grow. A Vision never just comes out of the blue. A new Vision is
build on previous concepts, thought-models or modules if you will. These
thought-models and modules were traditionally presented by philosophers,
great thinkers and after the industrial revolution by inventors
(technological products) and later through the mass-media (as a result
of these technological products).
Libraries have always been the preservers and (re)sources
of knowledge. In my opinion has the importance of the libraries long
been undervalued. Any library is a gateway to knowledge. Systematic
categorization, added meta-codes and descriptions, abstracts and
classification combined with present-day technological digital advances
like full-text searching and analyzing creates unlimited new
content-knowledge possibilities.
|
| Why? |
|
Alright, in essence I
do this for myself. Sharing knowledge and idea's makes me feel good. The
vision of inspiring others and sharing this with a meaningful system of
shared (public) resources which can become the modular building-blocks
of future knowledge, learning and education, is so powerful that I have
to research the possibilities. This website is an active presentation of
this research. |
| What? |
|
You will find visions,
reflections and problem-solving methods mostly presented in linear
written educational-narrative form but thematically clustered. My idea is a framework or
outline through which others can present idea's, dreams, visions which
inspire and help put our civilization on a higher level. In a next phase
this might become a facilitating infrastructure for sharing knowledge
and learning. This development is a process (as life itself) which has
in its form no limits to its extend. If you share this vision (or a
similar one) feel free to share your resources by suggesting content,
sharing links to content or contact me personally.
I wrote these pages in English
(even though my primary language is Dutch). I choose to use English on this
site because this makes it easier to instant automatic translation to
other languages, and because classification is mostly done in English.
Although I am reasonably fast in translating my thoughts into English
words, some grammar or writing-style might not be appropriate or
correct. Please feel free to comment on this, especially if it will
improve automatic translation to other languages. You can use
Altavista Babelfish to translate:
Some related material is written
in Dutch. I will try to find a method of translation. If possible I will
add an English explanation, abstract or English references. |
| How? |
|
This concept phase website
(under the name of META-Magazine) offers the raw texts and presentation
of various themes and subjects as linked sources related to concepts of
META-research. These pages are meant for people who are interested in
the matter. The contents and structure of these pages are likely to
change in time. A combined publication based on the content of the
META-Magazine website will follow, but this will be a next step in the
research-process.
Features I'd like to include on this website are forum & feedback
possibilities and a database-driven link-submission to related content.
Help on implementing these features is very welcome. |

My
initial research effort could generally be described as Esoteric Philosophy.
The word “esoteric”
traditionally refers to spiritual, initiatory, or inner knowledge. The
primary emphasis is the scholarly investigation of esoteric spiritual
traditions, with a special emphasis on Western esotericism. Western
esoteric traditions are of a remarkable variety, ranging from Gnosticism
and Hermeticism to alchemy, magic, Christian mysticism, Kabbala,
Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry, and other secret or semi-secret societies.
Investigation in this field is by nature transdisciplinary, drawing upon
such diverse disciplines as history, religious studies, and literature,
without belonging solely to any of these. [Explanation taken from: Esoterica:
The Journal of Esoteric Studies]
